Pricing

These are our published starting prices for packaged work, listed with what each one excludes. We publish them because a buyer who can't estimate the cost of something has no way to judge it, and asking a stranger to sit through a call to find out a number is a poor use of their afternoon.

These are our starting list prices. What a project actually costs depends on its scope, and we agree the final price with you in writing before any work begins. Prices are in US dollars, exclude the money you spend with advertising platforms, and exclude third-party tools and any applicable taxes.

06

Combining

06 — Combining

Running more than one service

Two services running together: the combined monthly management fee is $300 lower. Three or more: $500 lower.

The reason is arithmetic, not generosity. One audit, one tracking setup, one report, one conversation, rather than each service repeating them. The reduction applies to the monthly management fees for SEO, Google Ads and paid social. AI search visibility is already priced lower as an SEO add-on, so it isn't counted twice.

This is not an offer, it does not expire, and there is no version of this page where the price was higher last week.

07

Disclosure

07 — Disclosure

About these prices

These are our own published starting prices for packaged services, not quotes and not an offer. They give you a realistic starting point before you contact us.

What is included is listed with each package above. What is not included: advertising budget paid to Google, Meta or any other platform; third-party software, tools and licences; website development or design work; and any taxes that may apply.

Every engagement is scoped individually. Once we understand what you need, we put the scope, the fee, the billing period and the terms in a written agreement, and nothing starts until that is signed. The terms of that agreement — including how billing, notice and cancellation work — are set out in the agreement itself, not on this page. The general terms for using this website are in our Terms of Service, and the limits on how to read anything published here, including the prices on this page, are set out in our Disclaimer.

We may change these prices at any time. A price change does not affect work already agreed in writing.

08

Variables

08 — Variables

What changes the price

Six things move the number, and they move it in both directions.

Site size. A forty-page site and a four-thousand-page site are different jobs. Large sites have crawl, duplication and template problems that small sites simply can't have.

Market competitiveness. Ranking against three local competitors is not the same work as ranking against national brands with a decade of links and a content team. The work is the same in kind and several times larger in volume.

Content volume. Content is the largest recurring cost in most SEO engagements. Two pieces a month and twelve pieces a month is most of the difference between the tiers.

Ad spend. Below $10,000 a month our paid search fee is flat, so spend doesn't change it. Above that, it does, and the threshold is published rather than negotiated.

Number of platforms. Each platform is a separate account, separate creative, separate audiences and separate reporting.

The condition of what already exists. An account built properly two years ago needs adjusting. An account nobody has structured since 2019 needs rebuilding, and a rebuild costs more and resets the learning period.

What doesn't change the price: how much you appear to be able to afford. We publish one set of numbers, and they're the ones on this page.

09

Standard

09 — Standard

What every engagement includes, whatever you're paying

You know who is doing the work. Before you sign, you're told in writing which people or contracted specialists handle each part of your account, and you're told if that changes.

Written reporting, included in the retainer, never billed separately. What it contains is specified in full on the analytics page, and how often it arrives is agreed in writing before work starts rather than left to habit.

You own the domain, the ad accounts, the analytics property, Search Console, Tag Manager and everything produced for you, including accounts we create. We work through delegated access you can revoke yourself.

Everything is exportable. Nothing is held back to make leaving harder.

Conversion tracking verified at the start, whatever you hired us for. If it's broken, you find out in week one.

10

Exit

10 — Exit

Commitment and exit

The initial term, the notice period and what happens to work in progress are set out in the written agreement, and you see all three before you sign anything. They're not decided after you've committed, and they're not discovered in month seven.

We deliberately don't print "no contracts" or "cancel anytime" here. Both are things agencies say to sound relaxed, and neither is a term until it's written down. What we'll commit to publicly is the part that matters most if it ends: access is revoked when you ask, everything produced for you is exportable, and the accounts were yours the whole time.

Fit

11 — Fit

Are we a fit?

Probably, if you have a site that already exists, a budget you can sustain for more than two months, and someone on your side who can approve things.

Probably not, if the smallest number on this page is more than you want to spend on marketing in a month, if you need enquiries from organic search inside 30 days, or if you're looking for a guarantee about rankings.

12 — Questions

Pricing questions

Why does it cost this much?

The honest answer is that most of it is time. Published survey data gives a sense of the market: an Ahrefs survey of 439 SEO providers put the average US agency retainer at around $3,200 a month, with the most common band between $500 and $2,000; Clutch's figure across a much larger sample is close to the same average. Our tiers sit deliberately in the middle of that. Below about $1,000 a month, the arithmetic only works if the work is thinly resold, and you can usually tell. We're not the cheapest option available to you, and if price is the deciding factor, a competent freelancer is a legitimate answer.

Is the ad budget included?

No, and this is the most important line on the page. Google, Meta and LinkedIn bill you directly, at cost, on your own payment method. Our fee is management only. If you're planning a budget, plan for the management fee plus whatever you intend to spend on the platform.

Is there a setup fee, and what does it cover?

Depends on the service. SEO Foundation carries a $1,650 technical foundation; Core and Growth don't, because it's inside the first month there. Google Ads has a $1,450 account build. Paid social has a $1,450 build per platform. Each is charged once, covers the one-time structural work, and what it produces belongs to you.

What's the minimum commitment?

The initial term and notice period go in the written agreement and you see them before signing. We're not going to print a number here that we'd then have to caveat. What we will say is that judging SEO in under about six months isn't possible, so if you want to commit to less than that, paid media is the more sensible place to start.

What's the minimum ad spend you'll work with?

We don't publish one, because the answer depends entirely on what a click costs in your category. What matters is whether a month's budget buys enough clicks for anyone to learn anything. Tell us the figure you have in mind and you'll get a plain answer, including "that's too small to be worth managing" if that's true.

What if I only want one service?

That's normal and it's how most engagements start. The prices above are per service; the reduction for running several is the exception, not the assumption. Nobody will try to attach a second service to a first one.

Is this expensive?

Compared with a freelancer, yes. Compared with hiring someone, no, though that comparison is made too glibly and we're not going to make it into a claim. The more useful question is what the work is worth to you at your average sale value, and that's arithmetic you can do better than we can. We won't tell you it pays for itself. We don't know that, and neither does anyone else who says it.
